Recent client work

 

We thought it would be useful for you to see some examples of work we completed in the last 12 months;

 

- assisted a client obtain a £300,000 mortgage from Barclays to buy a property worth £600,000

 

- explained to a client how property income is taxed when they have a salaried income

 

- registered a client for self assessment now they have started receiving rental income

 

- registered a client as self employed with H M Revenue and Customs

 

- spoke to a mortgage broker about our client looking to re-mortgage

 

- supplied copies of previous accounts as the client has mislaid their copy

 

- formed a limited company, set up a VAT number and a payroll for a client

 

- explained the difference between a sole trader and limited company for someone considering self employment.  Also, we were able to answer other specific questions he listed

 

- saved a client approximately £32,000 on his capital gains tax by identifying a rule that increased his cost price when when he divorced from his wife

 

- obtained a £2,200 CIS refund on a building subcontractor

 

- over 10 new auto enrolment schemes have now been set up to remove the compliance worry from the client

 

- called HMRC to take a client out of the self assessment system

 

- helped with an enquiry about setting up a new business and things to consider - lease length and terms, providing excellent customer service, access to finance at start up and during first few years, marketing etc

 

- assisted a client in identifying the profitable and loss making division of the business.  Acting on this advice the client sold the loss making part of the business and is now concentrating on the profitable part

 

- obtained a research and development refund from H M Revenue and Customs for £140,000

 

- assisted a client in re-structuring his businesses and saved him over £250,000 in tax.  This was completed by liquidating a company and paying capital gains tax at 10% rather than 40% on dividends

 

- helped numerous clients in the last 6 months on mortgage applications by either contacting H M Revenue and Customs for proof of income (SA302) or completing forms for the mortgage provider

 

- assisted a client with a VAT visit and a seperate client with a tax credits investigation

 

- offering advice on zero hour contracts for employees

 

- We are now submitting 'Making Tax Digital' VAT returns on behalf our of clients and assisting clients who wish to submit their own returns
